（英訳：クラウディア・ブレフェルドさん、和訳：マーティン・トーマスさん＆宮下惠美子）
エリカ・ハンニックさんの句ですが、ドイツの学生は春や夏の間に校庭で朝ご飯（パン）を食べる事を習慣としていて、作者が詠もうとしたのはその風景です。子供達が朝ご飯を食べた後に、鴉が残り物のパンの欠片を争っている場面とのことでした。デボラー・カール-ブラントさんの句の「ディスプレー」は、最初はカフェの飾りつけのことを言っているのかしらと思ったのですが、やり取りの中で客がそれぞれ手にしている携帯電話あるいはパソコンの画面であると分かり、かつてはカフェと云えば賑やかにお喋りする場だったのに、昨今はシーンとした静寂がそこにあるという風景でした。
クラウディアさんがドイツ語から英訳をして下さり、それを参考に、マーティンさんがドイツ語から直接和訳した句をさらに正確にお伝え出来るように磨くのが私の仕事ですが、その過程でドイツの生活や習慣が見えてくる楽しさがあります。お楽しみいただけたでしょうか？
