HIA always welcomes our new member.

Anyone who agrees with the aims of HIA, can become an our member by paying membership fee and applying.

Not only individuals, but also corporations, haiku associations, and other organizations can become members by paying a supporting membership fee and applying.

Member Benefits

Members receive our quarterly journal ‘HI’ (“Haiku International). And by your request, other information concerning the International Association. They are also invited to participate in the activities of HIA.

• The journal ‘HI’ is published quarterly and contains a wide variety of content, including members’ haiku works (in Japanese, English, German, French, etc.), haiku-related critiques, and more.
• Members can submit their own haiku to the journal. And they will be translated into English and published in both Japanese and English. Haiku in English are also welcome.

Membership procedure

After paying the annual membership fee as follows, please contact HIA using this mailform. Your application for membership will be completed once you have paid the membership fee and contacted our association.

Annual Membership fee

Individual

• Non-Japanese members in Japan : ¥5,000
• Foreigner : US$70 (or the equivalent)

Supporting member

• Groups, associations or organizations : US $300 (or the equivalent)
• Corporations : US $500 (or the equivalent)

Paying

Sorry, HIA cannot accept personal checks.

About continuing membership

To renew your membership, HIA will contact you at the beginning of the month in which you joined.
