(注)高浜虚子は1910年から鎌倉に住んでいましたが、この俳句の丘は虚子が散歩した丘でしょうか。 (21)番に記載した俳句「一つ根に離れ浮く葉や春の水」は、河東碧梧桐 (自由律の新傾向俳句)と高浜虚子 (五七五調の伝統的定型俳句)との比喩と考えられますが、この「春風」の俳句も新傾向俳句に対する闘志を詠んだものでしょう。「虚子は熱き事火の如し、碧梧桐は冷やかなる事氷の如し」と正岡子規は評しています。

(注)この俳句の「仏」とは 「Buddha」と「死者を意味する仏さん」とどちらの意味でしょうか？　死亡した虚子の四女「六」のことなら、「the deceased」と英訳すべきでしょうが、露骨過ぎますね。「可愛らし」とは虚子の身内の子供の夭折を悼んで詠んだ表現でしょうか？　省略が多い俳句はその詠まれた背景を知らなければ適切な翻訳が出来ません。
