（注）「鞦韆」とは「ぶらんこ」のことで「春の季語」です。
「抱きのせ」とは誰のことか、虚子が自分の長女を抱き上げたことを詠んだものでしょうが、主語も対象も省略されているので真の句意は不明です。虚子が女性を抱き上げたとするとロマンチックになりますが、事実とは思えません。
(A)は、誰かが童女を抱き上げてブランコに乗せたものとして、「曖昧さ」（俳句の特徴）をそのままにして翻訳しましたが英語として不適切です。乗せた拍子に幼子の足が口に触れたのか、可愛さのあまり足にキスしたのかわかりませんが、「沓」は「ソックス」を意味すると解釈して意訳しました。
（B）は、曖昧さを避けて適切な英語になるように意訳しました。
